Just an opinion, but to me this image wouldn't work if it wasn't in Black and White. I see a lot of landscapes and architecture on here. DA is also imfamous for Nudes and Kittens. The thing about stationay object liek buildigns and places, is we didn't create them, and there is little we can do to manipulate them. A kitten can be at play, or sleeping. a nude can be with other objects or bent a certain way. Not to say nudes and kitten are better, i see too many of them too. However if stationary objects, we are more documenting a scene than anything else. For that, the grayscale is very nice. Where are the shadows, how is the depth of field, whats going on in the scene. Anyone can make Notre Dame pretty. But it's neat when someone makes old places interesting. I think this shot works.

that's my opinion too, that's why i made it in black and white... i work a photo depending on my feeling on it... the coloured image didn't give much feeling. bu like this, it works!
